When searching a keto bread recipe I thought for sure I would have a much more difficult time finding a good one. Not only have I never made bread before but I never thought it possible to be able to make keto bread from home. But I was able to make an amazing loaf of bread out of this recipe and I will be making plenty more in the future! Even my non-keto boyfriend likes my bread more than his own!
The best part about this bread is that it makes it so much easier to eat a low carb diet. Yes, there are some savage beasts (joking) that don’t miss bread at all and are happy to just eat bacon seven times a day, but if you’re anything like me, bread was a staple of your diet growing up and you still have a look of yearning in your eyes when they drop that bread basket in the middle of the table at family dinner. I feel your pain. This low carb bread recipe is your shoulder to cry on.
I tried this recipe and it is not at all easy to incorporate 1/2 the egg whites in the food processor. When attempting to pulse just 2-3 times, only part of the egg whites incorporated, leaving 1/2 the whipped egg whites still sitting at the top of the mixture. I then had to use a spatula to force it down and pulsed 3 more times and ended up with a heavy batter because the egg whites completely fell. Then trying to fold the mixture into the rest of the egg whites was like trying to fold in cookie dough. The result was a loaf of baked eggs whites that had clumps of batter in the middle.
Hi Amber, Yes, the baking powder and egg whites do help it rise a bit, just not as much as regular bread. It’s hard to say what went wrong, if anything. Everyone’s palate is a little different, so it’s possible you just didn’t like it, or maybe something didn’t go as it should have. It could be that the batter and whites weren’t folded together quite enough?
Can you do gluten free on keto
We actually wrote about this in the post. Here’s the crockpot directions, “To make Crack Chicken in a slow cooker, add the chicken and cream cheese to the slow cooker. Whisk together the water, vinegar, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, crushed red pepper flakes, dill, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl and pour on top. Cook on LOW for 8 hours. Remove the chicken and shred it, and then add it back to the pot and stir in the cheddar. Cook the bacon in a skillet on the stovetop until crispy; cool the bacon and then crumble it on top.”
This is now my go to for lo-carb bread recipe. It is SO EASY! I made it last weekend, Instead of Xanthan gum I used konjac root powder, it worked just fine, my baking time was more like 50 minutes and I did cover the top loosely with foil for the first 15 minutes so the top wouldn’t brown so quickly (maybe why my cooking time was so long?) I also added a pinch of Bakers yeast (brewers yeast is NOT gluten free) just for flavor and stevia 3/4 T. This bread makes really good grilled cheese or avocado toast! Very yummy! Thanks for this recipe!
The best part about this recipe is that it’s simple, and once you have it down, you can replicate this keto friendly bread any time you want. I’ve been making a low carb loaf every Sunday for the past few weeks and would recommend that to anyone. It’s so nice to have a loaf of bread at your disposal when you’re on a low carb diet. It almost feels like cheating. Check out this recipe and start making the best keto bread you’ve ever tried today!
Because sardines are a good source of protein and B vitamins, they really are brain food! They are quick and easy to prepare and in this dish the olives add a lovely contrast in texture and flavor. Black olives are very healthy and the Kalamata ones are the best, but you can use whatever ones you have. This is a very low carb meal but full of taste and goodness and so keto-friendly!
Does lemon water make you poop
Before “Keto” I was an every week bread baker. The house always had that soothing yeast homemade bread aroma. For months I have been trying everyone’s “best” bread recipes, only to be so let down….. NOW I have that delicious taste and aroma again. This is it guys, this bread hands down is the BEST. I had no xanthum gum so I added a bit more psyllium husk, I also rounded the yeast measurements cuz I love that yeast aroma and taste. It turned out WONDERFUL!! Don’t be afraid of this one guys!
Beating the egg whites is the answer to the denseness that comes with making an almond flour bread. I’ve made countless baked goods using almond flour and the main problem I’ve encountered is how dense the finished product is. The fluffy egg whites in unison with the high dosage of baking powder do a good job of getting this loaf nice and fluffy and adding some air pockets into the loaf. This makes for a better tasting bread.
I have a question I hope you can set me straight. I was putting the almond flour in my dry measuring cup and it didn’t seem right. I checked around the internet and found someone who said always weigh almond flour. So, I did. 8oz. = 1 cup so 8oz almond flour. It looks like enough but so much more than one dry measure cup. I got as far as doing the food processor part and realized I needed more eggs. So, I’m kinda in holding until I go to the store so, I thought I’d ask.. have I made a terrible mistake and wasted a lot of supplies or am I cool?
Is the Air Fryer good for keto diet
Why is there Insulin in this recipe? The science behind Keto is to reduce carbs to reduce insulin release. Insulins action in the body to quickly pull energy into the cells, thus reducing blood levels of glucose. Elevated insulin means more energy gets pulled into the fat cells. Adding Insulin is the opposite of what a Keto diet means to health and weight loss, especially those with insulin resistance.

Without being there in the kitchen with you, it’s difficult to say what the issue was; however, I can definitely help you troubleshoot…did you cook it for the full amount of time the recipe calls for, and did you cover the top with foil for the last 15 minutes? If so, there might be an issue with your oven’s calibration (you can get an inexpensive oven thermometer to check this). Another tip is to let your eggs come to room temperature first. Another factor is the altitude at which you’re baking; if you’re at high altitude, you might need to slightly adjust the oven temperature and bake time. The other thing to remember is that there will usually be a little bit of fall to most keto breads (in fact, every keto bread we’ve ever made) because keto flours lack gluten and are naturally quite dense; however, you can see in the photos, we still got a fairly good rise on this loaf. I hope these tips help!
Can I eat eggs everyday on keto
What an amazing dish this is! One of my favorite meals involves balsamic vinegar and strawberries, and you will find the vinegar raises the flavor of the fruit and, together with the crunchy nut slivers and caramelized onions, this is a feast of flavors for you to enjoy! The tender, juicy chicken holds a wonderful surprise when you cut into it and the stuffing is revealed!
Nice and firm. Baked it on the recommended temp, added 6 or 7 minutes. Pressed the middle and it was great. I let it cool. What was nice about it was obviously it’s low carb bread…hurray for that, but it cut well. Got 18 slices easily about 1/2 inch thick without breakage. Most importantly, it wasn’t greasy, or almond tasting overload, just delicious.
